FSM’s Got Talent

This annual event is a highlight in the boarding calendar and one which is shared and enjoyed with day pupils in Years 6 – 8 as well.

This year, 23 acts auditioned for a place in the final and Mrs Rowntree and Mr Hancock had the very tough decision of deciding who should be put through.  In the end, 12 acts were selected and took to the stage on Wednesday evening for the FSM’s Got Talent final.

There was an eclectic mix of performances, including musical numbers, comedy, dance and sketches.  Each act certainly entertained the audience and the judging panel, which featured ‘David Walliams’ (Chas Cochand), ‘Amanda Holden’ (Miss Carter) and a particularly mean ‘Simon Cowell’ (Mr Atherton).  It was wonderful to be joined by so many parents and Junior and Senior Rock entertained the crowd brilliantly as voting took place, once all acts had performed.

Huge congratulations must go to ‘Funny Bone’ and the Year 8 girls who were announced as joint winners of FSM’s Got Talent 2018.

My thanks to Charlie and Hamish for lighting, Mrs Cochand for photography, Mr Harvey for sound, as well as coaching both Rock Groups, and all the duty staff who helped to ensure the smooth running of the evening.

There was never any real doubt but Wednesday night certainly confirmed that FSM really does have talent!  Please enjoy the Flickr album of photographs below.
